So easy to be friends

A couple of days ago an old friend of us came to visit us and brought her little granddaughter Quetzal to meet Lucas for the first time. She was a bit sleepy and took some time to feel comfortable with us, until being fully awake. Lucas invited her to play and she refused, all shy and sitting hiding her face, so he left her alone and played by himself. In a few minutes, he invited her again, and there they went outside to play with soap bubbles, and boom! Instant friends, laughing and running around.

It's amazing how easy it is to kids to get along - when it's meant to be, because sometimes there's no way to the connexion to happen! It's rare, but it may happen. Usually it's only a matter of time for two kids to look in each other's eyes and create that link.

They spent the whole afternoon having fun, watching Percy Jackson, eating popcorn and even playing witch tales, wearing my witch hats (of course I had to take this photo above, too cute to miss it!). Best friends forever and my little witch was all happy with his beautiful new friend. I love these moments.

It always amazes me how kids just get along with new people and make friends so easily. It's a shame we seem to lose that ease as the years roll on.

That is such a cute photo! Maybe a daughter-in-law for the future?? ;-)

Ahh....the innocence of children! It is such a wonderful gift of the gods. The adults of the world need to watch and take lessons! I love the picture with the witchy hats. Bffs forever?!? You never know...the girl my son just married was a childhood friend. It took them a while to realize that they were meant for each other....you never know. :)

Blessings,
Marci

How nice would the world be if adults still managed that.

Nydia they are so sweet together !
You are so right how kids often have that natural bond .
I loved how when living in MX although we could not speak spanish our dd 3 at the time made instant friends . They play together all day , eat with each others families , swining in the hammock at the end of the day together .
I also love how in most cultures children are also what brings the warming of hearts and brings down barriors for we adults to talk to each other ;-)
Our dd had all the women in her friend Beto's family combing her hair , adoring her with hibiscous flowers and stuffing food in her mouth every chance they got .
and a child shall lead them is often so true is it not ☺

So great when that happens! And I wish it were that easy for adults most of the time to make friends. Just say "hey do you want to play or come over?"
